CD1 Mill

The CHOPIN Technologies CD1 Mill laboratory mill transforms hard or soft wheat into refined flour, producing a flour sample that is representative of a product produced by a commercial mill. The sample can be used for all your rheological analyses. This is ideal for comparing inter-laboratory samples because the biochemical composition of the flours produced by the CD1 Mill is very close to that of industrial flours. It's fixed milling diagram ensures high reproducibility of milling tests and consistent flour quality on all CD1 Mills.

  • Simple Milling
  • 2 superposed breaking steps, between 3 grooved rollers
  • 1 or 2 reduction steps, between 2 smooth rollers
  • Robust Cylinders
  • Reduced Maintenance
  • Long life expectancy
  • Centrifugal Sifting
  • Reliable, compact and powerful system
  • Very effective if the distance between the beater and the sieve is well controlled
  • Fixed settings ensure reproducibility of test milling, and identical biochemical quality flour on all CD1 Mills
  • Breaking and reduction parts are independent (it’s possible to run 2 simultaneous millings)
  • Capacity of up to 1 kg of wheat (4 kg kit can generate enough flour for bread-making tests)

  • Best Laboratory Mill to Compare Results Between Labs
  • A reliable & indisputable tool for commercial wheat transactions to assess the intrinsic quality of wheat (results will be the same as wheat milled by the seller or buyer)
  • The only laboratory mill compatible with Alveograph test from wheat grain (standard ISO 27971)
  • Covers the milling steps related to alveograph
  • Permits the user to be sure they’re using the same standard to achieve the same results

Chopin CD1 Laboratory mill method is standardized – AACC 26-70.01 (how to prepare wheat for milling, number of rolls, processing for consistent results, etc.)

 Simple Tool With Many Purposes

The representative flour produced from either hard or soft wheat by the CD1 Mill is used by wheat breeders, millers, ingredient specialists, R&D professionals, and educational institutes for a variety of purposes.

Wheat Breeders rely on the CD1 Mill to anticipate the Baking Value of their future varieties. They can achieve results quickly from very small sample sizes of grain.

For Millers, the CD1 assists with wheat selection and in developing wheat blends. They also use this as a tool to optimize wheat tempering by adjusting the moisture level and resting time for multiple batches. Industrial mill settings can be adjusted based on results from the CD1 as well.

Ingredient Specialists & Recipe Development

An optional 4 kg kit can generate enough flour for bread-making tests with their enzymes, additives, etc. Other tests require less flour for tests.

Control Labs, Research, & Educational Institutes

The quality of the results produced from the CD1 allow researchers to carry out repeatable and reproducible milling studies with results representative of the quality found in the industry. Specifically, the CD1 mimics industrial practices because of the use of both grooved and smooth cylinders, and centrifugal sifting.
